T-Day mission fulfilled. We got to our friends' home and Big Z got to see the new space for the little brother-to-be and then to play after a snack. I got to help Mom by cleaning the cat box and giving her some rest and renewal with a back rub and a foot rub. We got her as comfortable as she can be with her big belly on the couch. Baby is due at any point from now 'til a week or so from now, so . . . it was good.
Even though we didn't have a lot of time to share due to "schedules" our efforts were appreciated and we enjoyed our moments together.
;-)
March 7 and March 11 give the full stories for our T-Day efforts, some of which still continue ---
We're still helping our friend with her doggie walks; and, then there's the unexpected helping like yesterday for a friend who's a Doula --- sharing time with her youngest daughter, age 4, while she's assisting another Mom in a very, very long labor until Dad got home from work.
Again, as we've posted before, this is the joy of not having an 8-5 job, for we don't know how we would be able to help sometimes if we couldn't give of our time, love and energy to those we care for.
Next up for April 4 T-Day: I've decided to give my truck away. The recipient is letting it "sink into her brain cells" and will get back to me. It's a great truck, a Chevy with a lot of power to haul and tow, and we have "no farm" to put it to use any longer, and our friend does. She's offered to let us garden with her this summer to have fresh veggies. She has a hubby and three kids and she needs a truck to transform her land into "farm land". They have chickens already, and a space for a few gardens. With my old truck, who knows what kinds of projects could be completed!! Will keep you updated with the outcome.
By the way, this gift is inspired by another friend of mine who gave away her truck last year. While cleaning those ditches this weekend, and after my friend saw my truck again (we spoke about her buying it at one point last year), I just figured it was time to let it move on. And you know what? It feels like a most excellent decision, and will be even more excellent if my friend accepts it.
