Day 46
The best part of today was the start of the day, tuning into our Together WE Can CHANGE The World radio show at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/twcctwradio . If anyone ever has a challenge or hurdle that they just can't seem to get over, there is a man named Philip of Midland/Odessa, TX that can help you shift your energy. Please take a moment to listen to the AM Call for 2/5/2009. It will be worth your time. Philip is a Boot Camper, an Alternate brought forth to the calls by a mysterious invitation. You won't find his blogs posted with the other campers, yet anyhow. He's been a joy to listen to on all the calls that he's been on since he called in on the moderator line one day and announced he was there. Thank you, Philip. Your story touched my heart, and one day, when Big Z can hear your message, I really would like him to listen to your words of wisdom, of overcoming life's obstacles in order to live, live, and live some more.
The show we tuned in with FireFox today, and we found we had no issues with the MPM Tool bar. The glitch only seems to occur with IE and we'll figure it out eventually. We must, for we are going to continue to explore these new modes of technology as we grow Big Z's Enterprise and his Foundations, and his TEAMs.
At school this a.m. I had a face-to-face meeting with one of our contacts. He smiled shyly and said he's gotten my messages, but just hasn't called back. Another friend of mine was meeting me to exchange goods, and so we didn't discuss a meeting time, but I'll catch up with him later.
The woman I met is a good friend and we got to visit last night after our blogging was done. We got to talk about some of the stories Boot Camp is providing in terms of NPO funding, and helping those in need. I asked her, based upon her position in our community, where she would most place her energies if she could help more. She has three key areas that are the most glaring to her. It was good to talk of my friend in CA that I walked the Relay 4 Life with, and how wonderful it was to finally meet up on the same page of helping a charity. Now, she's on the Booster Club of my old high school, and ready to present to them! (No, we've not gotten back in touch with each other yet to find out what really happened that night). Though my friend in town knew what Big Z and I were up to, it felt like she heard me in a new way last evening. A new seed planted.
I met with my friend who's just come back into town after spending almost 6 months in CA with her boy at a special performing arts school. She opened a gallery and attended a well respected flower arranging school while the was there. We've been in communication about Big Z's Biz, and her son gets an SBIY subscription from us, but since she's not too adept with computers, she has hesitancy in learning more. She is, however, supportive of us. Now that they are back in town, we'll have to gently teach them a bit about how simple it could be to pay themselves for the shopping they do everyday anyway. This is the friend who, now that she's back in town, I will help tie up the project I was helping her with earlier this month. Our next week will be devoted to getting that project wrapped up before she heads to Sweden for a short trip.
Our friend who was in town recently on business sent a little care package that arrived today. I was touched by her thoughtfulness and called her to thank her. She has a very generous nature, has been a volunteer firefighter for years, and I met her on that Relay 4 Life walk all those years ago with my friend I mentioned above. She's a Federal Mine Safety Inspector as well. She mentioned caring for a friend of hers that just had surgery a few days ago for carpel tunnel. Her friend's employer is giving huge cuts to their workforce, as many huge companies are doing these days, and she lamented the economy and fear of losing her job. I will soon be sharing MPM with my friend so she can offer it to her friend.
The interim of the day was spent catching up on blogs and responding, checking email and replying and doing the necessary activities that keep a household moving along. Again, it feels like another day progressing . . . however . . . Am I doing what will really move us forward?
Well, as I watch our actions throughout the day, we are definitely busy, and we're still overcoming resistance to the new routines we've set in place as Boot Camp began. Change . . . for the good, mind you, but change none-the-less, has come to our house ;-).
As I saw last evening, Big Z is aching for "connection time" even as I am connecting with all of you. As I see that I am not making new calls daily to the many leads I have stacked up . . . I am observant. I attempted to move forth from this place a few weeks ago. What I am witnessing in myself is this knowledge of how good it would be for me to do this, yet I have been unable to reduce my time of keeping touch with the Boot Campers and continuing our journey together, feeling the pull to keep our vigilant support strong as the last days of Boot Camp are drawing to a close. For whatever reason, I am Your Supporter and I feel my energies are well-placed. I'm conscientious of the fact that I am not growing Big Z's Foundations quickly, but, funny how the feeling I have still is one of trust and acceptance, and knowing that all good circles back to us in due time.
It's been good to have the reminders and conversations about our commitments to Self during this last week, for that is what it boils down to. I am somewhat disappointed that my hopes in late November to January 24 haven't come to fruition in the way that I'd planned considering our financial situation. I'd like our steady flow of income now. However, it isn't now. It is soon. Soon as we begin taking our daily actions and daily follow-ups like the Boot Campers.
So, what's the plan?
The plan is to continue on as we are doing, supporting YOU Boot Campers in YOUR last week. All the while, continuing to do as best as we can to implement strategies that prepare us for our growth of Big Z's team. It's rewarding as heck to be Supporting YOU, and listening intently and learning on both training calls each day. Upon completion of Boot Camp, we will gain an hour in the evening that is already outlined for calling time. We're getting fairly good at having dinner before the call. This can help us maximize our evening. We've got our scripts mostly fine-tuned and this weekend I hope to finalize them (perhaps some of the new scripts for machines, etc. will be in the back office this weekend, too). We have marketing videos, so, deciding the best (and safest) way to go about promoting those is on our list . . . We have a fellow's info on doing this that I would like to gloss as we get those social networking sites up and running. I'll post you on who it is if I like what he's got to say. And, alas, I already know that I'll need to place "gentle limits" on my time of blogging and emailing --- for as they say--- we must do the most important tasks FIRST and then do the other tasks AFTER. However, please know that we will be reading your blogs and replying as we are able to, and, we will continue to be YOUR best Supporters ;-).
My hope is that as the Boot Camp is ending, we'll have gotten our engines warmed and ready, and my project will hopefully be complete, and we can bolt out the gate with effective actions ;-). We, too, have learned so much from the Boot Campers and their experiences. We will delight in having the AM radio shows still available to us for our motivation and our support line. Monday Night Family Chats are a bonus . . . just like Miracle Team Training Calls used to be on TH evenings. And, we have our training to incorporate into our schedule, too . . . That's the training I mentioned in our post over the weekend about "Taking Initiative" (Jan 31 post).
Are we good? You'd better dang bet your bottom dollar we're good. We're better than good, as our dear friend and fellow Boot Camper, Philip, has reminded us today. And as the old song goes, "Happy Trails to YOU, until we meet again . . ."
